We at Santa Fe Improv are passionate about being in touch with our minds, our hearts, and our creativity moment-by-moment, here and now! We are fastidious in our pursuit of the trust and courage it takes to step in front of others and devise a story as a team, through the simple mechanism of listening, hearing, and saying “yes.” We do this because we know it makes a difference to be present for each other. Okay, and we do this because where else are we going to be encouraged to play and have fun!

Community - Santa Fe Performing Arts Collaboration

This year, Santa Fe Improv has expanded it’s priorities to include not only serving adults, but our community’s youth. We have applied for 501(c)3 status under the name of Santa Fe Performing Arts Collaboration with the intention of making community outreach and collaboration part of our mission and programming.

Improv gives young people that critical opportunity to listen and gain confidence in their unique voice, to work together, to communicate clearly, to be present in the moment for themselves and their team, to be courageous and creative and truthful. There are only opportunities in improv, rather than mistakes. Youth will get that rare chance to trust themselves rather than fear being wrong. And they’ll be up on their feet and moving while doing so, keeping them not only creatively active, but physically active.

Equally important, improv presents an opportunity for youth to add their unique perspective to story-telling while having fun and laughing together.

SFPAC teaches improvisation and other performance skills to create change through play. We focus on values of courage, deep listening and teamwork. We support mindful communication, creativity and critical thinking skills, providing an opportunity for personal growth and enhanced community connections.

Santa Fe Improv intends to make a difference, one person at a time. We seek to bring people to a place of presence in the moment, a place where creativity is nurtured, the mind kept sharp, teamwork held as paramount, and laughter encouraged. A place of honesty and courage. A place of mindfulness on its feet.

  • To teach the craft of improvisation so the skills are clear, useful, and enjoyable.

  • To provide a safe and nurturing environment for students and instructors.

  • To provide an opportunity to learn, laugh, and have fun in community.
